From 2006 to 2016, Mexico state authorities reported finding 1,978 clandestine graves, while the country's Attorney General (Procurador General de la República, or PGR) reported 232. State prosecutors also admitted that at least 2,884 bodies were found in 24 states. This data, obtained through public information requests, brings us closer to understanding the shape and scale of Mexico's mass graves.
